The Hot In Cleveland star began her message by wishing her fans a Happy New Year and then added, ‘I have decided to go dry January.’
She explained, ‘I’m doing it for two reasons. One, I want to try and cut down the cravings for my sugar, and I think alcohol … exacerbates that.’
She added, ‘Two, I want to calm down the cortisol in my body that has been raging for the past five, six years I have been in fight, flight, freeze-fawn mode and I want to go into rest and digest.
Over it: After suffering through a divorce that lasted over five years Valerie explained she is doing this for two reasons. The first reason was to cut down on sugar cravings as alcohol contains sugar. She said the second reason was, ‘to calm down the cortisol in my body that has been raging for the past five, six years’
‘I think cutting alcohol will help me do that so I’m gonna try it out for January,’
She went on to say that she has been drinking less and less over the past six months so this exercise is ‘mainly about sugar and reseting’ her whole body.
She added that she was trying to reset and regulate her nervous system and that she is not a doctor but encouraged her fans, ‘you take care of yourself and I’ll take care of me.’
